Our Raw xx5 is simply too good to pass up, especially when offered in a classic rise M3, our Slim Straight fit. The xx5 is some of the last selvedge yardage ever to run off the looms at Cone's White Oak plant in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The xx5 in M3 is a 12.5 oz. year-round, sanforized (pre-shrunk), homage to denim's deep rooted history in that we use a traditional Japanese replica-style thread theory, the Red Orange + Egyptian Topaz colored D-Core threads from A&E, and pair it with one Cone's most iconic, and now finite denims. It's a great mash-up, and one that I feel best reflects my take on everything good about selvedge denim today. It took America to make a product as incredible as a selvedge 5 pocket blue jean, but Japan to fully understand and appreciate its place as the champion product of the 20th century.
This is a neutral caste indigo warp + ecru weft with single needle sewing throughout, including clean finished french seams and a chunky chainstitch bottom waistband construction - just like the old days. Welcome to the land of the incredible fade, enjoy.
You'll find Cone's classic white + red selvedge ID prominently featured on the side seams, center back belt loop, right back pocket, coin pocket and single faced inside button fly. For everyone keeping track at home, we sewed this with skinny beltloops and 3x1's back pocket #21.
